CHOCO-BANANA PORRIDGE

For this porridge, we combined spelt flakes with puffed spelt for an incredible play on textures. The puffed spelt is more delicate and lighter and makes everything softer and creamier.

Here, the real stars are nuggets of our Modica Chocolate, Dehydrated Banana and Roasted Hazelnuts

The hazelnuts contribute that crunchy, tasty touch and the banana, by absorbing the liquids, softens and gives a dizzying sweetness and flavour. What’s more, these two fruits provide the perfect dose of vitamins, minerals (such as copper and potassium) and fibre to start the day off right! 

Once the milk is added, the cocoa powder spreads and mixes with all the components and the chocolate melt for a result so chocolatey and mouth-watering that you will never choose any other breakfast!

Why spelt?

In addition to the presence of vitamins and minerals (such as magnesium), spelt is rich in fibre. These help intestinal transit and make it a food with a low glycaemic index so as to avoid the occurrence of glycaemic peaks. Spelt, together with oats, is counted among the most protein-rich cereals.

Why “Cioccolato di Modica IGP”?

It only consists of cocoa mass (i.e. ground cocoa beans) and contains only the butter that is naturally present in cocoa beans.
It never contains milk or lactose, which is another fat-bearing ingredient.
Only organic cane sugar is added to the fine cacao.
This makes it lower in calories than normal chocolate.

The real secret is cold working:

● It does not melt the sugar inside, leaving the chocolate with a grainy texture.
● It preserves the organoleptic and nutritional properties of cocoa, leaving higher percentages of flavonoids.

porridge ricetta calda

HOT version 🔥

Ingredients:

● 50 g porridge mix

● 120 ml milk/vegetable drink

● 1 teaspoon honey/maple syrup

● Pinch of salt

● topping as desired

Procedure:

● Pour the mix with the pinch of salt, honey and half of the milk into a small saucepan and then turn the cooker on to medium-low heat.

● Stir until liquid is absorbed.

● Then add the remaining milk and cook until absorbed. Add more milk or water if you prefer a creamier result.

● Pour into the bowl and garnish to taste!

 

COLD version 🧊

Ingredients:

● 50 g porridge mix

● 80/100 ml milk/vegetable drink

● 1 teaspoon honey/maple syrup

● topping as desired

Procedure:

● Mix 50 g of the mix with 80/100 ml of milk or vegetable drink and a teaspoon of honey.

● Leave to rest in the fridge overnight.

● The next morning, mix well and garnish as desired.

Yes, all the ingredients are mixed inside the bag and should be used together to make porridge, either cold or hot, respecting the quantities.

Being composed of grains, porridge contains or may contain gluten. contains gluten?

All of our products are Natural. They contain no preservatives or additives. Our Dried Fruit is never fried. Our Dehydrated Fruit contains no added sugars but only the natural sugars of the fruit.

Oatmeal is rich in nutrients, complex carbohydrates and gives a lot of energy, which is why it is perfect for breakfast or as a post-workout afternoon snack.

The term Porridge comes from the English word “pottage,” which means soup or soup. However, the dish itself is far older than its name!

Fun fact: Being a humble but very nutritious dish, porridge was served for breakfast to soldiers during World War II. The story goes that one would recognize an English soldier from a Scottish one depending on the habit of eating porridge: the former in its sweet version, the latter in its savory version.
